The pudùs are the world’s smallest deer, with the southern pudú being slightly larger than the northern pudú (there are two different kinds of pudú). It is about 32cm tall, and has a brown-coloured fur. This animal is considered “In serious danger” by the WWF, as these animals have been poached because of their beautiful coat. Luckily, some still exist in the most famous Green Parks and zoo (The closest pudú to Italy is at the London Zoo). These little deer are growing in number, so don’t be scared if one day a little hopping pudú turns up underneath your window asking for sugar!
