Progetto Arca is a non-profit organisation helping the less fortunate towards a future of autonomy and integration. In the last year, more than 53,000 people have received their help with the provision of 146 apartments and reception facilities as well as 1,600 street unit exits and mobile kitchens. Not only that, Progetto Arca has offered more than 3.6 million meals and medical visits to the homeless all around Milan. This fantastic charity works to produce change, increase social integration, listen without prejudice, intervene in less attended areas of needs and promote resilience.
Students in St.Louis have also chosen to be a part of the Progetto Arca Foundation as part of their CAS and as a group have taken initiative to organise a Christmas Fundraiser, collecting supplies for the less fortunate. This is taking place from the 11th to the 15th of December and students are invited to donate supplies to help individuals in need. These supplies will be crucial in order to aid the homeless community of Milan to get through the winter and supply them with food to celebrate Christmas as best they can.
Many supplies are welcome, even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated and will be crucial to help Milan’s less fortunate community. Food products with a long lifetime such as oil, rice, milk, salt, sugar, pasta and canned products are recommended donations as well as warm clothes such as scarfs, hats and gloves.
Students are able to donate these through the boxes placed at the front desk this whole week starting from the 11th of December. This is a great opportunity to make a change in our community and help those in need as best we can. The Progetto Arca Foundation is looking forward to collecting donations and supplies to then distribute!
