Lest we forget

Last Friday (9th November) all the students and members of St Louis participated in a small memorial in the Pantano courtyard. The event commemorated the 100 years since the end of the first World War. Though we could not meet on the exact date of the centenary, 11th November, for it was Sunday, we gathered near to 11 o’clock, which is when the armistice was signed.

After observing a minute of silence in which we remembered the many lives lost in the war, our Head of Science, Dr Collins honoured the many soldiers who gave their lives for their countries by playing The Last Post on the trumpet. Following this a number of Year 13 students read poems in both English and Italian.
