This past week, our school teams proudly represented us in Verona, Italy, competing in the prestigious MEDCUP Football Tournament. The MEDCUP is one of the largest international school sports events, attracting top school teams from across the globe for a thrilling showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange. Schools from all over came to battle it out on the pitch, making for a memorable event and an unforgettable experience.
Our school participated in three categories: U16 Boys, U18 Boys, and U18 Girls. Competing against some of the best young players internationally, each of our teams displayed incredible heart, resilience, and teamwork, proudly bringing home strong finishes. Here’s a recap of how each team performed:
- U16 Boys: Our U16 boys’ team had a fantastic tournament, fighting hard in each game and finishing in 5th place overall. They gave it their all and demonstrated impressive skills that left a lasting impression on both fans and competitors alike.
- U18 Boys: Competing in a highly competitive category, our U18 boys showed great team cohesion and tenacity. They finished in 6th place after some close and hard-fought matches, pushing themselves to their limits.
- U18 Girls: Our U18 girls faced tough competition but played with passion and determination. They also secured a 6th place finish, standing out with their teamwork and sportsmanship against some very strong teams.
While our teams didn’t make the podium this year, they gained valuable experience and represented our school with pride. Beyond the results, the tournament was a unique opportunity to learn from international players, exchange cultures, and build lifelong memories. Our students return not just as better players but with new friendships and a broader perspective on the game.
Congratulations to all our players for their hard work and dedication, and thank you to our coaches, staff, and supporters who made this unforgettable experience possible. Go team!
