Five Minutes with… Sara G

This week I interviewed Sara, a member of the Student Council and Deputy Head of Year 10. I asked her a few questions about what’s it like being in her position and how she feels about it.

Hi, how’s it like being the Deputy Head of Year 10 in the Student Council?

It’s very interesting because I get to see new people and all the working behind the events organised by the school. It’s overall an experience that makes you use a lot of new skills.

Did you already have experiences as a leader?

Yes, I have been class rep in the American middle school.

Why did you decide to apply for this position?

It gives me an experience that can be useful in the future, how the student body organisation works and all.

Do you enjoy being in this position? What’s your favourite part of it?

Yeah, I really like it. My favourite part of it to find the perfect compromise for the council, as it helps a lot with bargaining skills.

Are you, with the Student Council, working on any long-term projects and goals?

We’re thinking of working on organising a few fundraisers to get the students involved.

Lastly do you have anything else you would like to tell the students about?

Ask your class rep if you have something you’re concerned about and if there’s a survey always answer as soon as you can.

Thank you for the interview, it was a great insight into the new members of the Student Council, and their experience.
