Every year an award ceremony is held somewhere in Europe for the top artists in the continent. This year, on the 25^th October, it was held in our very own Mediolanum Forum of Milan.

This event is held by the well known music television channel, MTV. It honours the best music in Europe. This wasn’t Milan’s first time hosting the EMAs, but it had certainly been a long time since the last time it was held here. The hosts this year were the English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and the Australian actress (best known for the TV series Orange is the New Black) Ruby Rose. They certainly were a ‘fab duo’ that kept the audience entertained during the breaks.

I was lucky enough to get picked via a lottery to buy tickets and took my friend Diana to the show. It was a wonderful evening full of laughter and heart-pumping songs. Most celebrities turned up for their awards and made a little speeches to the audience. The ones who couldn’t come to Milan, sent in live videos thanking the public.

Justin Bieber was one of the lucky few that won an award, in fact he won five of them! His awards (Best Male, Best North American, Best Look, Biggest Fans and Best Collaboration) were all “thanks to my fans” as he told us himself. Apart from Justin Bieber the singers who also performed were: Ed Sheeran, Jason Derulo, Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Boccelli, Tori Kelly and James Bay.
